I needed a sandal for my trip to St. Thomas that could handle the beach and hiking (and look reasonably cute with a dress). These lived up to every challenge. Zero break in needed and my feet were comfortable and supported all day. I’ve included a picture of one of the trails I hiked in them and they did great. My only negative comment is I do not like that Teva does not offer 1/2 sizes. I ended up needing to order an 8 and a 9 to get the right size. I’m normally an 8 1/2 and I recommend sizing down if you aren’t sure which way to go.
I began to explore sport sandals for my upcoming Disney trip and after a few unsuccessful finds, I came across these and my goodness am I glad I bought them!I have slightly wide and flat feet due to bunions next to my pinky toes, so I'm a true 9 in nearly every type of shoe. I bought these in 9 and they are the perfect fit. I like a chunky shoe and I appreciate that these don't make my wide-ish feet look like they are spilling out the sides.I love the adjustable straps, though I prefer when they are super fitted, so I do have some extra strap hanging off the ends. The footbed is very comfortable and the bottoms of my feet never feel sweaty or like they are sliding. The bottoms of the shoes are very sturdy and I can imagine they do well on most terrains (I don't hike).I have had a hard time not wearing these shoes all summer. Even with summer dresses, these give a trendy casual/sporty/dad-sneaker kind of vibe which is just overall comfortable and chic. I wear them all day at work (I'm a children's librarian, and walk/bend a lot) and these never feel uncomfortable. I own these in both sesame and pure white (so so so cute), and I even own the ampsole version with the platform bottom in a nude pink shade (they are just as comfortable, but a little more fashionable). I am struggling to not get another pair in another cute color combination!
I was on a hunt for a BIFL (Buy It For Life) or at least close to that, pair of sandals and I'm so glad I spent a bit extra on these. I'm 6 months pregnant and these are great for a few reasons:- they have 3 adjustable straps - pregnant women's feet size can go up even 2 sizes during pregnancy so that's very helpful. For reference I bought my usual size, because I still fit into my regular shoes but I have had to adjust the straps to be bigger or smaller depending on the day and water retention.- the sole is very comfortable. They are more comfortable than my house slippers and they are not slippery! A huge comfort during the later months of pregnancy- they are cute! A lot of maternity fashion is very, very drab an basic. You might as well already be checked in to a hospital with all that boring clothing, but these sandals are cute and come in so many fun colors and patterns.- I did not have to break them in and they are very, very comfortable to walk in. I'm happy to keep them even after the pregnancy. If I don't forget, I'll update the review in a year or two about how they held up, but for now, I'd definitely recommend them.
Although I know these shoes are different, I was hesitant to give any Teva's or Chaco's a try because barefoot shoes/sandals ruined my feet. After MONTHS and months of physical therapy for Achilles Tendinopathy and Plantar Fasciitis, I was still only able to stand/walk for 2-4 hours. Then I tried Teva's and stood for 6 hours with minimum to no pain. Game changer. (Btw, absolutely hated Chaco's. See comparison below.)Chaco's:**Tried all kinds of sizes and variations: narrow (even the wide ones barely fit), pinched toes, the band length is not very long, had to squeeze my feet in, and even the Z/Cloud soles were very uncomfortable (Nit picky, but I also found they were very unflattering.)Teva's:**Fit wide feet very comfortably, plenty of band length, like walking on clouds, easy to clean, did not dye from accidental encounters with zinc sunscreen, have noted from a friend that they are very comfortable for flat feet. (And I find they are flattering, although I will say that the tan lines with Chaco's are better).Hope this helps.
I am between a 7 and 7.5 but the only sizes are 7 and 8. I went with a size 7 and I wore them for the trip in the Philippines. I wore them with socks on the flight going there because my feet and legs swell very easily. With the adjustable straps, it was easy to accommodate for the swelling. When wearing socks, I did feel as though my foot was slipping around in the actual sandal but you could always tighten the straps. I wore these pretty much everywhere and didn't experience any blisters. I had to climb a very steep staircase for a hike and these did very well traction wise. My only concern is that, when I went to visit the Stone Kingdom, a man made attraction, it rained. The pavement got wet and the ground was very slippery. There was almost no traction and it felt like I was walking on ice. I have to test out how they would be on wet hikes and walking through rivers and streams. But for what I bought them for, they did a great job.
For reference i am 6.5 in shoes and i ordered a 7.First let me start by saying that I always wanted a pair of Tevas but a friend of mine convinced me to get Chacos. For me, the Chacos were too heavy, the arch was too high for my foot which caused my feet to feel tired quickly after wearing them around the house for a couple of hours, and the straps were uncomfortable.I had been eyeing these Tevas for a while and had them saved so I immediately placed the order. They came quickly and i was immediately impressed when i put them on. Everything i ever wanted! Super lightweight, beautiful color, the straps are soft and the heel has padding which is awesome. I read a lot of reviews that said it was in an awkward place but it doesn’t bother me yet. Will update this review once i’ve worn them out and about. I do wish they had half sizes because they look a tiny bit big but it doesn’t bother me at all. The straps are pretty adjustable and my foot is snug and cozy.UPDATE:I’ve had these over a year now and they are still one of the best purchases i’ve ever made. I ended up buying my boyfriend the men’s TEVA hurricane sandals shortly after buying mine and he loves them also. They’re great for water parks and tubing as well. They’re not slippery and your foot stays nice and snug even when soaking wet. Highly recommend these!
I used this for a camping trip and wore them constantly. I walked miles on sand in them every day. I did not feel fatigued by foot pain as you do with the cheap sand shoes. They did get wet a few times and when the wet sand got under the straps it did scratch a bit but I don't see how that would be avoidable in any shoe used in and out of water. I would recommend.
Love these tevas to walk and hike in. My feet get very hot when walking or hiking while wearing sneakers. These tevas are so comfortable and fit perfectly. No more blisters yay! Well worth the $$$
I packed for 3 weeks in SE Asia with these sandals, flip flops, and sneakers (didn't need the sneakers) and wore these incredible sandals almost every single day. Almost every day, I was blown away by how comfortable my feet were. It would just be a thought that happened as I was climbing through relics of old temples, wading through waters with sharp shells underfoot, or managing footing on slippery boats. There was a little spot on both feet (near the pinky toe) that did not like the nylon webbing strap, but I had brought bandaids to help - and after the first day, I learned by loosening the strap, the issue went away. I have always resisted Tevas (as a NYer, I try not to wear athletic wear as a tourist), but these black basics fit my Manhattan aesthetic too! ;) I typically wear a 10, ordered these originally in 10, and sent back to exchange for a 9 - and the 9 were perfect!
Was waiting to review these until they got a legit test, and am happy to report that they are great. I really wanted open-toed sandals that were both completely waterproof and would hold up to fairly serious hiking. Also, the fun colors and having the shoes actually look kind of cute didn't hurt! I did a ton of research and tried several pairs, from top of the line in terms of cost/reputation, to relatively inexpensive knock-offs. These were the only ones I kept, and now that they've come through with flying colors after our trip to the Great Sand Dunes as well as a waterfall hike where we had to walk through ankle-deep rocky water, I know I made the right choice. I particularly like the ability to adjust multiple straps to get just the right fit; I guess I'm in between sizes as I've always had trouble finding any walking/hiking shoes that fit properly and/or don't make my toes horribly sore. Shoes are one thing that I don't mind paying a little more for top quality, and these were beyond worth it (in fact, they were actually less expensive than most of the other name-brand sandals I tried, though I'd buy them again even if the price were higher. I've already bought a similar pair for my teenage son, which have turned out to be the first pair of sandals ever that he actually likes wearing.) Highly recommended!
